Using wpmu 2.8.2 and bp 1.0.3.

When a user signs up for a buddypress account, the activation link given in the email leads to a 404 page. To bypass this could I somehow remove the necessity of activating via email?

Is there any way to have it so that a user does not need to activate their account through an email?
