Hiding private blog activity from activity stream

    Hello,

We use dsader’s More Privacy Options plugin (http://wpmudev.org/project/More-Privacy-Options) on our install, which is pretty common, I think. I’ve noticed that users with their blogs set to one of the privacy options provided by this plugin, still have posts show up in the activity stream.

I know from past experience, (http://mu.wordpress.org/forums/topic/10008) that it may mean just a simple edit to exclude all blogs that are not set to ‘public’, but I’m not sure where to make this change.

    Does anyone have any suggestions?

    Thank you

Take a look at the BP MPO ACTIVITY FILTER plugin. Just be aware that if you’re logged in as Site Admin you’ll see ALL private posts in the activity stream which may lead you to believe it’s not working. Log out and the posts should not be visible. I am getting the following in my error log with this plugin activated (on wpmu 2.9.1/bp 1.2): “WordPress database error Table doesn’t exist for query”

If the blog is set to private (not visible to search engines) then it won’t show in activity streams.

Thanks, mark. That’s what I needed.

Andy, the problem is that the More Privacy Options plugin adds new privacy levels, like on wordpress.com and the Activity Stream doesn’t recognise those. It only knows about Searchable/Not Searchable ‘privacy’ options (I’ve never understood why blocking search engines is referred to as ‘private’ – I think it’s misleading).
