Reorganize Activity Feed to magazine style

Instead of current activity feed, why not reorganize this feed in magazine style main page?
It suites perfectly for numrous of projects. And it is more comfortable to see not a plain feed with filtres on events.
I think it’ll be better to create <div> areas for major type of events like for:
– new posts
– new topics
– new users
– new groups
etc

This is a great feature, If anyone has any more advice on how to implement it, or if someone has any examples of your sites with such a format it would be really appreciated.
