Buddypress is great and has many features I’m looking for. However, I’m looking for a feature to allow members to submit a news story (or blog post) on the front page (preferably).
Wordpress P2 Theme has such a feature http://www.p2theme.com

I’m not looking for a member to add a “status update” as that feature is obviously here already. I want them to submit a post.
Is anyone aware of such a plugin?

@creativologist You need to buy gravity forms for WordPress. It’s a premium plugin but does exactly what you want and is quite literally amazing! stacked full of features. The best WP plugin there is in my opinion for this kind of thing. Well worth the small cost.
