He doesn’t have a threaded forum, it’s a threaded comment system. Better yet, it’s available to you if you use the P2 theme!
Threaded comments were introduced in wordpress 2.7 and is an option in the admin settings. A theme has to have been written to support that version of wordpress due to changes in how themes were done.

At the bare minimum, there are some important changes/additions to certain theme files and folders that would need to be made as detailed here in the section entitled “Upgrading the Theme files”.
Has this been revisited? I am interested in threaded forum posts. It’s not clear to me where threaded comments discussion ends and where threaded forum posts begins. Anyway, is anyone close to or got threaded forum posts working?

I would love threaded forum posts! I only use group forums, but it would be nice if you could reply to others in a topic not just the starter post. I know you can use the at mention, but not everyone knows or remembers to do that.

Hi tjtate, this forum thread is over 10 months old. When you see an old thread that hasn’t been answered in awhile, it’s better to just create a new topic.
To quickly answer, when bbPress 2.0 is more tightly integrated with BuddyPress groups, it might be possible to use an existing bbPress 2.0 plugin with BuddyPress when that time comes. Until then, you probably won’t see threaded forum posts.
