I’m trying to build a link to the members profile … http://example.com/members/%5Busername%5D

However, I’ve noticed that some users are having a “-2” added to their name. It’s not every user, it’s just random ones. Or at least it seems random. So the end link looks like http://example.com/members/nick-2 and using http://example.com/members/%5Busername%5D won’t get them there, it takes them to the site homepage I assume because it’s missing the -2.

Does anyone know why this is happening and how to fix it.

I’m running WP 3.1, BP 1.2.8 with Wishlist Member 2.50.850.

Are you by chance making some sort of change (either manually or through a plugin) to the user_nicename or user_login fields? Or are you using spaces in your usernames?

ahhh…. so it’s not random.

The ones that I notice it on are accounts that have recently changed their password.

I’m using wishlist member for the payment aspects of the site. They don’t handle changing any user data, it’s all done from inside the wp user settings.
