Running WPMU 2.9.2 and Buddypress 1.2.3. Installed fresh on sub-domain to replace a Ning network and thought I had everything working. I imported all the users over and when they started posting group forum topics was when I discovered a problem. The admin account hits an error trying to open an existing topic and then cannot reply. Clicking the link from the activity feed, or the forum directory, to a specific topic results in “can’t open file”. Non-admin accounts don’t have this problem. (In fact I created a test non-admin account, replied to an existing topic, then made the same account an admin account, and it couldn’t go back and read the reply, but demoting it fixed the problem, even without logging it out. So I know it’s not a cookie issue, it’s something specific to the admin rights of an account, but I have no idea where to start looking for a fix. Obviously, I would like to be able to reply to members topics as the admin of the site!

Anyone have any ideas?

After further testing, I’ve now narrowed it down to not just the overall site admin, but the group admin also. If I am a non-admin account that is the admin of the group, I cannot open and reply to topics. Still no ideas on fixing it though!

I think I’ve discovered the problem. After deactivating the Buddypress Groups Forums -Move Topic plugin I can reply to posts as the admin again. Does anyone know if there’s a fix for that plugin? I kind of liked the idea of it!
