I’m having a avatar cropping issue as well.

Images upload OK. User sees the original size image on the left and a 150×150 crop of the upper left corner on the right. There’s no obvious way to crop: No tools with mouse over or click, and small image can’t be dragged.

Running WP 3.1.2 BP 1.2.8 w/ default theme tested on FF 4.0.1 and Safari 5.0.5 on an up-to-date Mac.

The crop feature worked under previous versions of WP & BP

Same here, but it used to work before. I’ve changed only from fcgid to php mode, in apache settings, since the fcgid made my server crash a lot. That’s the only change I’m aware of, after that the crop didn’t work anymore – just loads the photos and it shows the cropped image but there’s no possibility for me to drag/crop the image like I want to.

Ohhh, almost forgot: I’ve optimizes the .js a little and it is possible to made something bad – what is the code or .js file that does the cropping?

Got it, it was not my optimization, the problem was another javascript using jquery that was translating the page – apparently there was some sort of conflict between them.

how on Earth do you guys find “the other javascript” that was responsible?
I have no clue about programming, I got the cropping working in Chrome only but not in IE & Firefox, and find NOWHERE some reliable advise as where to look and what to look for (with example as no programming knowledge)
