I have had many members complain that they can’t upload an avatar. I figure out that when they tried to upload a file with and extension .JPEG it wouldn’t work but it would work when changed to .jpg

Where can the allowed file types be edited to allow for all different types of spellings and capitalization?

This has been fixed in our dev version; take a look at https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/changeset/4169 for the fix
