Changing the Text on a profile tab item

Alright, I have two things I want to do involving navigation tabs so I separated them into two topics. I am trying to change the site to say “categories” instead of “groups”. On the user profile page they can view their “groups”. How can I change this text? Not to mention the text for the join and leave buttons. The child theme I am using has had most of the text editable from the source files. Thanks guys!

Well you can edit text to a degree from within files but I would suggest that you read through the pages in the codex first then if things still not clear or further questions post back to the thread.

You’ll find this page quite useful. My community actually has used this method to change “Favorites” into “Bookmarks”.

@hnla Oh, right. Whoops. My amazing brilliance got ahead of itself. :P

And yes that was the page I was referring to.

Thanks guys. It worked! I still have a few text issues here and there, but I think that they are problems with the child theme I am using. Thanks again
