For some reason my website is not allowing me to add create new accounts. Maybe I am missing this somewhere, but I can not find it. I checked other forum posts and they mentioned that I might have to activate it in the general setting under the buddypress set up. I still did not find it. What did I miss? Thanks!

Never mind! Figured it out 2 minutes after posting this. Been fooling around with this for 2 days and the second I ask for help I figure it out. Irony in action!
