Creating Sub ( Child ) Pages

  • Hey there!

I recently installed a local WordPress blog to try it out. I created some pages, including sub pages ( Drop-Down menu’s, whichever you like to call them ) and tried out some other editing options.

Just for the fun of it, I tried installing BuddyPress to see what it looks like. Though I have 1 problem after installing it: None of the BuddyPress themes support sup/drop-down pages. Without the plugin, whenever I hover on one of the pages, a drop-down menu appears with all the child pages. This doesn’t seem to be the case with BuddyPress.

I tried googeling for answers, but none of them ( Either older WordPress versions or Im just being stupid ) seem to work. I tried most of the BuddyPress themes aswell. Is there any plugin/hack that enables me to show those drop-down pages again?

    Thanks in advance!
    Grz.

  • Our in-development version of BuddyPress has had its theme updated for this and many other issues. If you’re familiar with SVN, you can grab a copy from https://svn.buddypress.org/trunk/ — if not, check out a live demo site at http://testbp.org

    Hi,

I got a copy of buddypress as per your instructions above.
However, I was unable to install the same and I keep getting the following error message:
‘The uploaded file could not be moved to .
However. the downloaded package (1.2.8) worked well.

Would appreciate if you can help me how to install the development / latest version.

    Thanks,

    Hi again.

I was able to install the development (trunk) version. I deleted all the .svn folders in the zip file and it worked.

After installation, all the pages are showing blank. Am I missing something obvious?
Appreciate your time in helping me resolve this.

    Hi,

My bad!!! Apologies for the earlier posts.

After installation, I went through the setup (which is different from the earlier version). That took care of display of pages properly.
Thanks for fixing the page and subpage feature – it is much easier now (don’t have to mess with the code). Ordering of the tabs even that of buddypress works great.

Thanks for these fixing these nifty issues.
