Default user avatar is the same size throughout the site

Unfortunately, I made the mistake of trying to swap out the mystery man default avatar images that are in the core folder in place of my own selected images. Now all the default avatars are the same size when they shouldn’t be. I tried changing it back and I tried reinstalling my entire wordpress account but this also didn’t fix the problem. Anyone with ideas to restore it to normal please let me know. Thanks!
