Deleting a plugin’s data from the SQL database without jeopardizing the site?

I’m trying to think of a safe way to delete all the data associated with a plugin from my SQL database. I tried deleting the plugin files and reinstalling them, however, there seems to be some data remaining in the database file.
Unfortunately, unbeknownst to me, the database file is HUGE and not easy to understand like buddypress files. Any thoughts on how to delete data from a specific plugin safely without risking damage to my site? Thanks.
