Our client wants to have social intranet and Buddypress fits the bill (well minus the lack of calendar and that buggy bbPress issue). However they want to disable friends lists and private messaging. Is this possible? Yeah, it’ll be a really un-social social intranet

It is – in the admin backend, you can choose whether or not each component is enabled.
