On profiles I use “<iframe src="http://www.facebook.com/plugins/like.php?href=&layout=standard&show_faces=true&width=450&action=like&colorscheme=light&#8221; scrolling=”no” frameborder=”0″ allowTransparency=”true” style=”border:none; overflow:hidden; width:450px; height:100px”>”

When I look in the code the bp_user_link looks perfect exactly the url to the member.

However ……….. the facebook like button says “6 other people like this” and… it says that on ALL profiles… so I think somehow that the fb picks it up as the same root url?

example: http://farmvillechicken.com/members/admin/

what am i doing wrong?

Yeah you must have some wrong code because I used the steps outlined in that tut and it works perfectly. Note that you must change the link code to match the content. I’n added a forum topic like button and it’s not that same code you’s use for an activity item.

It’s very weird. I really dont get why it does not work. When I am on a member page I can use the firefox webdeveloper toolbar to change the html code.

So I can change the url above on the fly. But any combination just delivers the same message back from FB. I think it stops at /members/ and does not read the membername.

Also when I go to : http://developers.facebook.com/docs/reference/plugins/like I can the urls directly and any member url delivers the same button.

I think I need to add something behind it to get it to work, index.php did not work.

I figured out a fix!!!
replace the bp_user_link code with `http%3A%2F%2Fyoursite.com/members//`

works like a charm
