Hi There!
This is what i am looking for:
1. New users press ‘Sign Up’ button on WordPress site.
2. they are directed to a registration page where they are 3 options – are they a DJ or Venue or Promoter.
3. Once they have chosen they click Next and are directed to a registration form specifically designed for each type of user (DJ/Venue/Promoter)
4.They fill in the forms and payment details for registering with site and are directed to Paypal page for payment.
5. Once payment is complete they are sent an email confirming registration and asked to Login
6. Each type of users profile is put on seperate pages – DJ Page, Venue Page or Promoter Page. The user has his/her own page that can be accessed from that specific page.
The website is http://www.ineedyourskills.co.uk and is a socail networking site for people in the music sectors. I hope someone can help me. Thank you very much

@dorothysulzmann – are you looking to hire a developer to build this for you? In which case, you might want to register it as a job on the job board, rather than a support query.

hi Roger

I was looking to do it myself – i have created several wordpress sites and html and flash sites so i have some understanding and coding knowledge. Do you think there is a plugin out there that can help or even a basic tutorial that can help me? However if you think the only way i’m going to get this is by getting someone to build it for me i will do you suggested and hire a developer.

It’s certainly do-able using BuddyPress, but would take a fair bit of work. What’ve you provided is more like a brief for a full project / strategic consultancy, rather than a support question answerable in a thread like this.

You can look at the documentation section of this website: https://codex.buddypress.org/home/ as a starting point, although it’s doesn’t really have a basic tutorial.

You would need to investigate profile fields in depth, and writing logic to handle your different types of user.

For payments, you might be best looking at one of the “off the shelf” plugins.
