BuddyPress.org

I added some custom registration fields to my user profiles (so, during registration, the users have to enter some extra info). How do I HIDE some of these fields in a user’s profile?

For example, I may ask for a user’s phone number during registration …. but I don’t want ANYONE except our forum admins to be able to see the phone number. So, I need to hide the phone number everywhere (except the WordPress admin).

Can anyone help me do this?

NOTE: I don’t think this is relevant … but here is some info on my site and BuddyPress: I was told that BuddyPress uses BBPress 1.5 for it’s forums. So, I was told I should run BBPress 2.0 separate from BuddyPress (and disable the forum component).
