Not sure if it is a theme issue or a buddypress issue; or an issue at all. When users try to upload a .gif, it will not animate. This is after croping, the default pic animates before cropping. Any help or recommendations?

How or where are you cropping @David?

The original image is not used. The cropper creates 2 new images that are not gif.

Right, this is a known side affect of the image crop.
