Hierarchy of profiles – How to do this?

Howdy all,
I am trying to create a website where there are TWO Profile TYPES.
1. Normal User (let’s say soccer players)
2. Client User (coaches and/or teams)At registration the person chooses the TYPE of USER they are; once they choose Player or Coach, the registration form changes to incorporate the fields for that TYPE of PROFILE. Thus the PROFILE TEMPLATE is different for the PLAYER and COACH.
I am having the hardest time doing this. I can’t even find an example of an outside company who has already done this work in wordpress/buddypress. So even if I want to hire an outside company who has done this; I can’t.
Does anyone know if this is possible?
