how to access admin dashboard from bp default theme

I can only access the admin dashboard for wp by entering the wp-admin url. Before I added BP, while logged in, each post had an “edit” link.

There appears to be a missing edit_post_link() call in the post template (/buddypress/bp-themes/bp-default/single.php).
