How to, recording of group registry data?

Can someone please explain the data entry process for the group registry. I examine the coding and see entry forms, and I look at the bp-core to see how data is parsed, but I don’t see how the data is transmitted, nor can I find what I’m looking for in the global.js, please help me in understanding the sign up process. I cannot find what is activated when submission button is pressed, and need guidance from there.
