at this very page there is the Inbox within the SideBar.

How can I achieve the same at my install ?
Is this a new widget in BP 1.2.4 or is this a certain Plugin ?

This is a very user-friendly feature which should be available as Widget in Core-Code.

It’s just a messages loop wrapped up as a widget. Very easy to make…

Here’s something I’m using on one of my sites:

Download the file, rename it to shabu-inbox-widget.php and upload it to your plugins directory. Activate and put into a sidebar.
