Manually Activating Users? Is it a case of just changing the 2 to a 0?

    Hi guys,

I only run single install of BP so can’t use Boone’s new activation plugin as far as I know as it’s for multisite only.

To activate a user manually if they haven’t clicked the registration activation link, do I just need to change the number 2 to a 0 in the WP_Users table?

    Cheers,
    Ross :)

I think so. Anything else should be created when those users log in (that’ll be when they also start appearing in the members directory, etc).

@DJPaul Cheers Paul, I’ve just tried it and it indeed works. the only thing it bypasses is creating the activity stream entry that user ‘x’ became a egistered member. Everything else looks like it has been created just fine.

Actually, just found an AMAZING plugin from rich here:

    https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/buddypress-pending-activations/changelog/

Takes pending activations through the real process of activation, leaving you with no unused keys in the wp_usermeta table. Highly recommended but support stops for it by BP version 1.3.

Someone should definitely take this over, it’s essential!
