Currently on my Buddypress site if you @mention someone in an update it only goes to their @username mentions tab, but often they don’t realize they have a new @mention.

I was wondering if there is a way for @mentions to show up in the notifications in the admin bar at the top of the page, so it says something like – you have been mentioned in a post.

For extra information i’m using WordPress 3.0.5 and Buddypress 1.2.7

Also noticed that there is a system for @mention notifications to be sent as an email. Is there a way to edit this to also show in the admin bar?

hey @randomdude – I found this; haven’t used it myself yet, going to add it now. I’ll let you know how it goes.

Works great! create a new .php file in the plugins folder called : bp-custom.php.
Enter in the code and it works!
