I have just installed BuddyPress on my new gallery site for people to show their creative talents. I love the plugin and it will optimise my site so much – can’t wait to get it working.

However, I must have done something wrong for none of the links are working – they all take me to a page can not be found message. I have read through another post with a similar issue and tried to follow some of the steps suggested int hat post, and would greatly appreciate any guidance.

I have checked my .htaccess file and mod_rewrite appears to be on, are these the correct settings?:
# BEGIN WordPress

RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /showcase/
RewriteRule ^index.php$ – [L]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule . /showcase/index.php [L]

# END WordPress

I have also checked phpinfo() but I’m not entirely sure what I am looking for: http://www.theshowwall.com/test.php

I would be so grateful of any guidance, thank you in advance!

I had the same problem and it turns out to be a super simple thing. You need to specifically enable mod_rewrite for apache.
