i’m interested in finding out about possible options. i believe that your issue could be solved using the WPMU Default User Role plugin. this allows you to assign a default blog (could be any id) for new registrations, but for example you cant seem to be able to go in a blog and register for the specific blog only, you get a ‘site registration’ instead

sub-blog: http://auto.example.com (register)

get off the main blog entries

just let the user choose and write the blog could become a member.

A blog a member of the user to register are other blogs

Example: http://www.expamle.com / register (note the register form) (redirect 404.php)
sub-blog: autos.example.com / register
members should not enter the other blogs this blog
