Is there a way to restrict viewing of WP posts and pages by roles and/or groups?

For example I only want members to see certain posts or post/pages in certain categories. How can I do this?

I’m curious about this functionality as well. I have an existing wordpress site with a bunch of content on it that I don’t want to delete but want to limit access to using groups, so that I can invite friends to still be able to access it. BuddyPress groups seems perfect for this.
