I would like to show the groups on a BP site in the footer as a single row (with avatar above/name below). Is there an easy way to do this? Would I modify footer.php in the child-theme to call the groups? Is there an example of a site someone could point to where this is already done and the code shared?

This is what is in the footer now – and I get the avatars in a single row but I am not able to figure out how to space them apart so that it looks good.

Ugh I get so pissed off on this site because I cannot post code. For example, code in angle brackets doesn’t work … nor does any other combinations I’ve tried.

So, until then … go to url http://www.insanepolitics.com and see in the footer that I have a row of avatars .. but no spacing.

Update:

I’ve abandoned the idea in the footer and tried to add the php code into the sidebar.php. It works wonderful when I’m logged into the site but when not logged into the site then I get no groups showing nor does the activity stream below it load.
