Split group directory “Group Tab” in 3 different Groups Tabs.

I would like to divide groups by adding (when creating new group ) new GROUP custom field (select – dropDOWN menu – 3 options) .
Is there any way how to create another group custom field with dropdown menu with three OPTIONS (dogs , cats , elephants ) and then to have all 3 splitted groups with their own group directory TABs ?
So instead one general ALL GROUPs tab will everyone from those 3 groups have additional 3 tabs with their DOGS , CATS , ELEPHANTS names ?
