Updating to WordPress 3.1.4

Hi there.. I’m giving Buddypress another whirl so I’m not to familiar with the process of updating core WP files; specifically WHEN to update.

I noticed that there is a new WP version and that I’m being asked to update. Is there any problem with always just going ahead with the update or should we be waiting to see if buddypress will have some sort of problem with the newer version? I tend to update the instant I’m notified of a newer WP version.

Also, do we just click the update automatically button or should we also be running the UPDATE network button to globally update the individual blogs?

    Thanks very much!

P.S. In the last question I guess I’m wanting to know if WordPress and plugin updates will be left to individual blog users or can I as the network admin update all the blogs using the UPDATE NETWORK function.

    Thanks again.

@webby101 – You are safe to update to WordPress 3.1.4. When WordPress 3.2 drops, we are going to release an update to BuddyPress 1.2 to fix a few compatibility issues.

You should also update all sites on your network on your own. Normal users should not be updating your site for you. :)
