I am looking to be able to validate check boxes in buddypress so that i can limit people to a maximum off 5. So out of 10 only 5 boxes can be ticked.

Where is buddypress as far a validation is concerned? Are their any plugins available, else i will just be trying to integrate a jquery validation plugin???

just thought i would try for a heads up first?

I am not aware of any plugins that do this. You also should be doing this with PHP and not with JS, as this can be deactivated in the browser. There should be various hooks that let you validate stuff on registration or whenever.
