I do not know the first thing about programing. I currently use host gator which seems to meet the installation requirements but I don’t know what I need to do on my end especially when it comes to Apache. Please help. thank you

Hi,

BuddyPress depends on WordPress. Have you installed WordPress on your hosting account?

If not, I would kindly say this is a WordPress issue. Try reading this article to install WordPress:

If that article is greek to you, Hostgator should have some form of customer support; it should be quite easy for them to setup WordPress for you.

Once you have WordPress setup, all you need to do is to login to your WordPress admin dashboard and navigate to “Plugins > Add New”. Then, search for “buddypress” and install.

Well I was assuming he was meaning buddypress because it was posted on the buddypress forums….

But because he was talking about *host* he could of been talking about wordpress- it was unclear.
