Problem with members access

I’m having problems with my members access. I have BuddyPress Default 1.2.5.2 installed. Before I installed it, I installed the member-access 1.1.2 plugin. But I only get the login form, I don’t get the line above it asking me to join. I believe I have to go to My Account –> Settings to fix this, but when I go to any of the stuff under My Account, I get a 404 error. Apparently there is also supposed to be a members folder under the main WordPress folder, and each user has a folder in it? I don’t have this members folder.
