BP Profile Menu – How do you change the position of the menu tab
-
I am using the BP Profile Menu with BP and WP with TwentyEleven child theme. I want to move the Profile tab from the end of the menu bar to the second position behind the Home tab. How do I do this? Please note that my PHP and CSS is limited so if possible as much examples as posisble would be very much appreciated. Thank you.

This has been asked and i’m trying to find a solution. There is no documentation on re arranging wordpress menus programmatically. Only in the admin can you re arrange. Since the plugin adds to the menu it might not be possible…..
might be a way to get items as array and then re arrange. its seems silly we can programmatically add to the menu an have it shown in admin
Ok, after fiddling with code i’ve created a way to have an admin menu that can be re arranged. I’m going to update plugin with new code sometime tomorrow
@modemlooper Thank you again! Will you please notify me when its available since the plugin search here is not functioning properly. A link to the WordPress repo will be appreciated! Thanks!
crazy menu hacking! As i’m working I’m like WTH is dynamic links not available in WP menus.
Currently trying to get a menu in admin with a Profile item that can be moved around. *bangs head into wall*
@modemlooper I here ya brother! Its a pain in the butt but we appreciate the heck out of you. Most of my sites depend on your work as well as my own. I am grateful for your contributions!
@modemlooper: Perhaps this can be raised while we’re reviewing menus? Or at least used as a test case when we have done that.
@karmatosed – dynamic menu links is a generic WP issue, not something specific to BP
@rogercoathup: Yes I am aware but there are things could be done with menus in BuddyPress. If you recall from the dev chats, we’re re-examining the entire menu area so anything should / can be considered.
I’ve successfully created dynamic links with ability to re arrange menu in admin. We may want to use same technique for user nav on profile page.
*patch *patch pom poms
I’ll post first draft of plugin later today so people can test and see if UX is ok. It has a few quirks because we are tricking WP to use a dynamic URL when only static links can be saved in admin. But I think it’s worth it. Especially with 1.7 theme compat.
@modemlooper Awesome man I can’t wait!
@modemlooper Thank you for your immediate response, I too look forward to your plugin enhancements.
