How to hide unique username from others?

Hi everyone. I need some help.
I’m working for the Ministry of Education in Tierra del Fuego, Argentina. I’m making up a Social Network and others virtual enviroments to impulse the education here. In order to integrate the information with others official systems, I need to give the users their real document number and now I’m wondering if is possible to hide that number (the unique username) behind another username, different from the log-in one.
Anyone can help me with that?
