The setting for disabling the commenting on blog/forum posts should be removed. For those who want it a plugin or snippet should be the made available for this setting. I always have to change it back because the setting becomes undone with upgrades or de/reactivation. I don’t think its something that is needed to come factory. Would be great if you guys removed it, or fix how the options settings save.

it is an admin panel setting. under General Settings ->Buddy Press Settings. It doesn’t work is the thing, if I always have to fidget with the checkboxes. the one setting just doesn’t stay saved.

the setting uses the wordpress function get_site_option/update_site_option – do all the other options reset to default as well?

Is there a function I can add to bp-custom/functions.php that will always override this option to OFF position? Disable activity stream commenting on blog and forum posts: OPTION just keeps toggling on and off and I can’t think of any reason to ever use it. I’d hope in a future version it would be removed.
