I want to add, that I would even be open to a URL that even just limited the username in the profile URL to the first 6 characters for example. Are there plugs in or coders that can help?

HI! I am using a plug in for wish list where when people sign up, they can get logged in automatically. It uses the email as the username.

Trouble is, it will then display the email in the URL bar in the profile in buddy press. […]
