I’ve read many a topic on the battle against registration spam and I’ve tried each and every single one with varying amounts of success. I’ve managed to keep the site clean for months on end and then…. all hell breaks lose! I’m at the point where I am seriously considering hacking the core to allow […]

My site has taken quite a battering over the last week or so, such that the volume of spam registrations I am receiving is causing my web server to crash. I’ve been doing some digging regarding the spammers and found that more than one of them is using “Link Farm Evolution”, I don’t to post […]

@milordk I’ve been doing some further testing with version 1.1 of the plugin and have noticed the following error:

When a user registers and chooses to create a blog then the blog is at least partially created in the database but is not visible through the front end. The new blog is not accessible either. De activating the plugin allowed new blogs to be created but those already whilst the plugin was active were still broken.

@milordk I think but I cannot confirm that version 1.0.1 also impacted the creation of blogs / sites in my WordPress Multisite implementation. Was this a problem you were aware of? Is this resolved in the latest version (1.0.3)? Thanks

Please describe the problem more

Ray & Paul, Thank you very much for your time, I shall do some more digging and then post back my findings in case they are useful for someone else in the future.

Ray, Thank you for responding, I do have access to the server and got the error message from the error_log which I assume is the Apache error log.
Please can you let me know if there is another more specific error log that I should look.
Very grateful for your assistance

Googling seems to indicate that I may have a loop in my .htaccess file, I’m a newbie and would appreciate it if anyone could spot any errors here: RewriteEngine On RewriteBase / #uploaded files RewriteRule ^(.*/)?files/$ index.php RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !.*wp-content/plugins.* RewriteRule ^(.*/)?files/(.*) wp-includes/ms-files.php?file=$2 #…[Read more]

I recently upgraded to WordPress Multisite 3.0 from 2.9.2 WPMU and at the same time updated BuddyPress.
The forum topics seem to have disappeared:
http://amdram.net/forumsHowever they are still in the database.
Any ideas on where to start? Much Appreciated
