@naijaping if I was you I would just buy a wpmudev theme for $1 at mutuuj.com then you wont have to worry about the child theme

@serverdog if you are looking for a group calendar/events plugin, mutuuj.com has all of wpmu dev’s plugins but they sell them individually for $1
