    @ahd904

    Also, it would be nice if you could also tell me where is the function that triggers the sub-menus to show on parent-menu tabs.

    Thank you

    Regards,

    Dear @shanebp,

    The answer from the support team at appbuddy was not really helpful.
    Their answer was ‘Appbuddy should just override bp files in the same hierarchy, Thanks.’ … haha

    shane i was hoping that you might be able to tell me where i would find the codes for the sub-nav-menus so i can check the appbuddy buddypress files and whether they are correct or not on my own ?

    Thank you in advance.

    @shanebp,

    Yes, i have just requested them for a help.

    They were telling me previously to override those templates from buddypress/bp-legacy to their appbuddy plugin which allows the integration of buddypress with apptheme but only to find out that those sub-menus are not shown…

    It looks like non-working day for them today so i will get answer tomorrow.

    Can i at least learn or study from you what are the basic requirements or necessary files that ‘must be’ copied from the buddypress/bp-legacy files??

    Thank you so much for the help!

    @shanebp, unfortunately, things did not work out well 🙁

    If i have overriden those template files and it is not working. Where should i assume the problem is occurring from ?

    @shanebp,

    Thank shanebp,

    But is that only for the profile page or the whole member nav-menus ??

    @hnla

    This doesn’t really make any sense how can you think you need to limit creation steps if you add plugins that extent the group creation api in offering necessary user choices in the setup process, are they not presented as ‘steps’ because they are choices a user needs to select.

    For example, the rtmedia plugin which adds the photo album section to buddypress groups asks in the group creation step whether you want to enable the photo album for this group or not which i want all the groups have photo albums as a default setting without asking.

    It is this kind of obviousness that i think is unnecessary to ask for the type of community that i intend to build and so i want to remove them.

    I believe you are quite right. I must have thought that way to contact the plugin developers to remove the creation step and preserving editing function if possible.

    Thank you for the comment @hnla

    @danbp Thank you for such a long reply comment.

    1)

    Register process doesn’t include group creation, nore joigning a group, so i guess you are thinking about a problem that doesn’t exist at this stage.

    I would not think this easily that i ask for something that does not exist at this stage. I must have put ” join a community ” in a different sound phrase but i meant creating a group and be a part of community.

    2)

    If you allow your users to create groups, they have to follow the 3 creation steps, because it is intended so in BuddyPress. Thinking that this might be to complicated, implies that you think that your users are not able to do this. Mabe you’re right, but maybe not.

    About this i have worked with other plugins to tell more about groups, media ability and add location etc. So i now have 7 steps in a group creation. This is the main reason why i am requesting for this topic.

    3)

    As @bphelp said with reason, what your question implies needs some extra coding and much more as a simple snippet. You can do many things with BuddyPress, but not everithing or anything. 😉

    Second:
    Core simplification is a hard work (see Trac), so don’t expect that your goal could be reached easily, as BP will never be a “one click” tool. IMO this plugin is already very easy to use as is.

    I am sorry if i have put words sound as though you guys’ work is a simple and does not require a lot of effort 🙁 I really appreciate the usage of WP and buddypress that push this community ability feature to WP.

    This was simply just a request if there is such a method that already exists.
    I guess not so far.

    @danbp
    Thank you for the comment again, i will try to find if there is a way with discussing other communities as well.

    @bp-help, It is not as simple as just adding some codes to the functions.php in the child theme to fix this ?

    Hm… i hope to gather up some more comments from other people as well because some people already asked for similar topics. There must be a way…
