Anyway for those who are using their own custom themes, I hope this post could help.
The child theme I use was BP default for BP v.1.2.3. It was working on v.1.2.4 until the 1.2.4.1 revision. What I did was adapt the new BP default 1.2.4.1 theme and used it as a child theme instead of the old one. When I did this, everything start working again. I guess the developers tweaked BP’s code to patch a security hole particularly in the forum. This patch did not coincide with my old theme, that’s why the forum posts disappeared.
