@rich! @ etiviti @rossagrant yeah I saw that plugin, and I honestly wouldn’t mind paying, everybody deserves to be paid for their work, but you cant buy that script you have rent it, its like 10 cents a day or something strange like that.

I came across this profanity filter for WordPress that has worked great for another project and wondered if it would be possible to buddypress’ify it. I already tried it as is for BP but it is obviously missing some needed code and just over looks BP all together.

@djpaul “if we encouraged people to edit the default theme or any of the core BuddyPress files directly, most of those people are going to come back and complain….”

That’s why I think it is important to start separating the BP plugin from themes.

@thekmen I’m just one of the people that think themes should be completely separated from the plugin the same way they are separated from WordPress. Trying to reduce everything to one theme with a bunch of child themes is only going to slow down development and discourage people from appreciating Buddypress. I mean look how few […]

when you activate the Buddypress default theme, the archives page disappears, it just says

Archives
Do not edit this page
Edit this entry (<< which is a link to edit the page)

When you reactivate the WordPress default theme, it appears fine again.

is there any way to take

/groups/groupname/forum/topic/topicname/

and turn it into just

/groups/groupname/topicname/

or even

/groups/groupname/forum/topicname

If this is a project you are still working on I think you definitely should add that feature. And if possible something to display photos. Just my suggestions.

@djpaul why would it be such a big project to create one separate forum when there are already an infinite number of forums plugged in to the groups things? Wouldn’t most of the work already be done already?

Yeah I installed them both locally using MAMP. I tried it again tonight and when I log in to bbpress it will log me in to buddypress, but when I log in to buddypress it doesn’t log me in to bbpress. I went in to buddypress to the forum setup tab and did the integration […]
