I have the exact same problem.
My buddypress group is called Writers’ Bloc
However the email post notifications always get delivered as
Writers' ; Bloc (ampersand hash zero three nine semicolon instead of apostrophe, I added a space so you can see the problem)
I have not figured out a way to have it appear as an apostrophe in the emails. Is this a buddypress bug? or post notifications?
I know PHP so if someone can direct me to the right file I can probably fix it myself…
