Sorry for bringing an old thread back to life but I also have this problem and was wondering if I could change the css or html of the theme or of buddypress to stop it duplicating?

I have some major allignment issues with everything to do with buddypress and I have no idea how to fix them. Everything seems to align all the way to the edge.
