that plugin is *only* used if your theme does *not* have BP support. Likely that’s why you’re getting errors.

Did you create a network? Or is this a single WordPress install?

Have you also changed the default signup slug and the link text to get to it? Make sure you nofollow that.

Yep.

Buddypress does not make the blogs, though. WordPress does with multisite enabled. Buddypress just does the user profiles.

What you’re looking for is a *custom* solution. 🙂 If it’s for a company or client project, why not hire one of the many bp devs out there to build it for you?

@KatieBen what have you tried to fix it? Does the wp-signup.php page work with BP turned off?

Can you give a link to your site so others can look?

Look at the posts above yours: some DID post a patch up above. Did you try it?

did you look at trac to see if a ticket was filed? If not, can you file a ticket?

If you wanted to replicate all the BP sections on each blog, you can do this:

Allow BuddyPress to function on multiple blogs of a WPMU installation, not just on one root blog:
define ( 'BP_ENABLE_MULTIBLOG', true );

They still have to register at the main site.

Or the devs who have actually started tinkering to have some time to work on it. 😉

Disallowing bots to follow the signup page link (nofollow on the link), changing the default signup slug and adding new profile fields really really does help. And no plugins either.

Hmm, just a quick though, but if you wanted blog-like content for a group – why not use an actual blog? No point in recreating core WP functionality.

Now, if there was a way to *link* the group blog with the group, that’d be awesome. It may exist, I have no idea,. 😉

here’s hoping more theme authors jump on the bandwagon and do the needed work to add support for BP. It’s just better for us all then.
