I think the “my blogs” link pulls blogs that the user is an *admin* on, not just ones they have any access level to.

You don;t need to create a child theme if you’ve downloaded one to use. And you need to keep the parent them there too.

Which theme did you want to use? TwentyTen? If you have the twentyten child theme I did, then activate that one. Leave the rest where they are.

I only start with a child theme off the default BP theme, *if* the markup of the non bp-areas (blog pages, etc) is close to what I want in the end.

wp e-coomerce runs with multiple blogs, yes. the getshopped site runs MU.

Or you coudl go as simple as an of the paypal button plugins.

Yes. I made a child theme and added the BP capabilities. Which was one of the options Paul mentioned above.

99% of the wordpress themes out there are gpl. snag away.

The mu-plugins folder is still supported in 3.0.

But, the plugin still looks like it needs fixing. 😉

Because the function, when you add it to themes, is one line. then is uses core code to do the rest.

He’d have to rewrite it entirely anyway.
