I’m using an existing facebook application (not a new one), so all of my existing application users on facebook will need to be reseted on my site, otherwise the facebook link doesn’t have an id.
hope that’ll help identifying the problem

no the user isn’t an existing user, but it’s appearing on the list of users.

@pcwriter Can I also suggest to have the option of showing the ‘Community’ menu to logged in users only?
-
That’s an excellent suggestion and should be rather simple to add to the next version.

you mean you uploaded the .zip file in there? well, this is what I did.
1. Unzip
2. I created a folder ‘buddystream’ and put all the files in there
3. Upload the folder ‘buddystream’ in /pluginsit should work

you need to upload the files to your /wp-content/plugins/ folder
-
I did upload the buddypress zip file to my /wp-content/plugins/ folder but it doesn’t show up in my plugins in my admin panel

1. Does anyone else have the problem with last.fm? It’s importing each song 2-4 times, does it have anything to do with cron job? I’m currently using ‘background’ import.
2. I have a ‘user’ that’s stuck in facebook, there’s no username/email or any info on this ‘user’, when I press ‘Reset’, it just refreshes the page, the ‘yes/no’ confirmation…[Read more]

Also noted that last.fm is currently ignoring the limit placed in per/day…. I will add this to the list of known issues as I can replicate it…
With regard to user… try a different browser (firefox/chrome) and see if you still have the issue.

Thanks!

Question… Does the user exisit as a WordPress user? AND they don’t exist, BUT are appearing on the list of USERS in the Facebook USER ADMIN…. Can you verify that is what is happening?
So it looks like they have been saved to the Facebook-BuddyStream wp-meta area but have been removed as a user?

re: cron job, I copy pasted the information generated but I get this message from Bluehost
“Error
“-“:1: bad command
errors in crontab file, can’t install.”Did I miss anything?
-
Depending on the cron job application you may not be able to simply cut and paste what is posted in BuddyStream… review you cron job application instructions and adjust accordingly….
-
I’m using hostgator and getting the same error. I’ve tried various paths in the url, but nothing works. Its not the plugin though, because if I run the wp-content/plugins/buddystream/import.php in a browser, content gets imported.
-
still not working 🙁 but its clearly a server side problem.

I still can’t get this working, the cron job email says:

got it, make sure your host has curl enabled.

Thanks. Worked great

We are currently thinking about implementing a “reset” all feature to thelp with this kind of issue…

I use the latest version of everything, uh PHP is 5.x I believe
yes users see the same thing
aha I found it, it conflicts with BuddyPress Usernames Only, that’s ok, I can live without this plugin! Thanks for your help.
Another problem I found, with last.fm, the same song gets imported 2-4 times..

just one question, on the activity wall, it says “auphoria auphoria(twitter icon)auphoria posted a tweet”
The 2nd and 3rd ‘auphoria’ links to my twitter account, how come it displayed my twitter first name twice? Is there a way to remove the names and just use the icon link? having the name displayed 3 times in a single line is tad bit annoying.
-
That is odd… it is pulling the user name from your WordPress user, so it certainly shouldn’t be doing that… it is possible there is a problem with another plugin… I’m not seeing that on my site, LPH2005’s site, or the buddystream.net site.
Are other users pulling tweets from/to your site, seeing the same thing?
Try shutting off other…[Read more]
