Okay, so I got Notepad++ and made the files, and when I go into WordPress editor, it shows my style.css and functions.php, but when I click on style.css it says “Sorry, this file cannot be edited”. I am using this tutorial http://www.1stwebdesigner.com/tutorials/create-buddypress-theme/ and I cannot tell which part is the template. On WordPress it says the theme is broken because it does not have a template. I thought by putting in the

    Theme Name: bp-child

    Theme URI:

    Description: Author:

    Author URI: Version:3.0.2

    Template: bp-default

Code that I would be able to start editing the theme on wordpress. Is that just the stylesheet? If so, what do I do for a template?

I couldn’t figure out how to add the stylesheet header because I was unable to edit it. I simple made the folder but I could not configure it

oh ok. Sorry, just one last thing- Before I realized this, I put the links as a widget in the sidebar. However, the menu appears on the right sidebar on google chrome, but in the footer area in internet explorer. Is there a reason this is happening and how do I fix it?

Thank you! But where is the primary navigation located? Because after I created my menu I only see the custom admin bar navigation section

I looked up these plugins, and a vast majority of them have not been updated in quite some time. Do you plan on just editing them to fit with the version of wp you are using?

okay, just found that I can only see the ten tabs if I am logged in as user. But you can still see seven or so if you are logged out. Still need help though lol

I see the same thing. I don’t know why it’s there, but what I would reccomend is going into your site’s dashboard, going to plugins, type in whatever plugin you want, and just make sure you add “buddypress” at the beginning.
