Try switching to the BuddyPress Default theme for testing. Try sending some friend requests. If it works, then the theme is the problem, and you’ll have to get in touch with WPMUDev.

If it still doesn’t work, please provide some more info about your setup. Are you using any other plugins?

In IE are you seeing the fields where you attach the files? Can you describe the problem in more detail?

I believe that http://wppolyglots.wordpress.com/ is the place to ask – I don’t think that any of the moderators on buddypress.org have access to add you as a committer for translation stuff.

You can disable plugins and themes temporarily without losing work. WP and BP content is stored in the database and shouldn’t be affected by what themes and plugins you do or do not have activated.
